At Workplace, we believe that work gets better when people are connected. Because when we connect people, we can turn companies into meaningful communities. And when that transformation takes place, amazing things can happen in an organization.

Untangle work with Workplace

From informing everyone about the return to the office to adopting a hybrid way of working, Workplace makes work more simple.

In 2018 we've been inspired by the ways our customers are using Workplace to help achieve this transformation. This is our year in review, as told by them.

Welcoming new customers

Welcoming new customers

This year we've been thrilled to welcome even more of the world's largest organizations onto Workplace. Companies like AstraZeneca, Telefonica, Zurich Insurance, WeightWatchers, Chevron, GSK, and Clarins UK all started their Workplace journey this year.

Workplace customers

It's not just the biggest companies. In 2018, thousands more small and medium sized businesses have deployed Workplace. We're really excited about the organizations we'll be welcoming to Workplace next year.

Putting connectivity first

Putting connectivity first

Using Workplace removes the obstacles to top down communication whilst enabling two-way company conversations at a massive scale. And Workplace customers have been using tools like Live video to broadcast important company updates to everyone, or features like Workplace groups to have a better company conversation.

Stanley Black & Decker is using Workplace to bring people together.

Or, how Workplace became the #1 communication tool for the world's #1 tool company. We met Stanley Black & Decker CEO Jim Loree to find out how his teams use Workplace. Ways that involve utilizing tools like Auto Translate to communicate with colleagues in their local language to build an inclusive sense of community.

“In my 18+ years at the company, I’ve never felt more connected to our employees around the world.”

Making organizations feel smaller and flatter

Campbell is using Workplace to boost connectivity by 243%.

At the start of the year we told the story of how iconic American brand Campbell's Soup saw a 2.5x boost to employee connectivity just a few months after they deployed Workplace. Using features like groups and Workplace Chat is enabling Campbell to connect managers with staff. They're also using Live video to broadcast events to large sections of the Campbell community. It's inclusive, it's familiar, and the full story is right here.

Flow: a leadership conference like no other

Flow: a leadership conference like no other

In October we hosted Flow, our first ever global leadership conference. It was a day full of customer stories, industry insight and networking - with leaders from IT, HR, and Comms discussing strategies for business transformation.

Guests included Workplace customers Walmart, Delta Air Lines, Clarins UK, United Way, and GSK. We also welcomed author Daniel Coyle, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Box CEO Aaron Levie, and many more. Watch this recap video to see how it all went down.

Walmart at Flow: using Workplace to streamline processes and build communities.

Joe Park, Walmart's Chief Digital Architect, joined us on stage to share how Walmart is using tools like Workplace groups to share experiences and expertise. And how the resulting 'persistent memory' helps associates feel a part of the Walmart culture 'from day one'. Read the full Walmart story here.

“For us, Workplace has gone beyond communication. It’s actually helping us solve problems.”

Launching a platform for productivity

Launching a platform for productivity

At F8 in May, we announced the Integrations Directory featuring over 50 integrations with the most popular work tools on the planet. It puts Workplace at the center of organizations - the platform from where all other work gets done.

Workplace Partners

Oxfam are using Workplace integrations to revolutionize collaboration.

Customers are already using Workplace integrations to enable people to do their best work. Earlier this year we told the story of Oxfam, who used custom integrations with two of our partners - Box and Okta - to transform how 10,000 people get work done.

“Workplace has been pretty epic. It’s so agnostic to where you are in the world or which IT system you come from. You come in with the same voice.”

Listening to customer feedback to continuously improve Workplace

Listening to customer feedback to continuously improve Workplace

We’ve heard time and again from senior executives that they’re struggling to make high-signal announcements heard amidst the noise of everyday communications. That's why we announced Mark as Important in October.

Mark as Important

Group posts that are marked as important will show at the top of the News Feed for every member of the group. You can also send email and push notifications, and run a report to show engagement metrics. Every customer will have access to this feature by January 2019 and you can find more information right here

We've continued to build a community of Workplace service partners this year. Launching Workplace Pioneers to boost personal development

Launching Workplace Pioneers to boost personal development

In September we launched the Workplace Pioneers program - an exclusive group of 28 Chief Workplace Officers from companies of different sizes and industries. We've built this to offer Pioneers personal development opportunities and to empower them to become thought leaders in their organizations and their wider industries.

We welcomed people from companies like Astra Zeneca, Ennismore, Deliveroo, Clarins UK, and more this year. And we can't wait to grow the program throughout 2019.

Serious about security

Serious about security

We closed the year by reenforcing our commitment to data security by achieving IS0 27018:2014 certification.

ISO 27018 is an international privacy standard that builds on information security management systems. By achieving it, we're making sure you've got more control over your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and visibility on how we use it. Read more here.
