This article is only applicable to admins with relevant permissions.
Third-party integrations
If you want to check which permissions that a third-party integration you’ve enabled for your Workplace has access to:
- Click Admin Panel in the left menu on Workplace.
- Click Integrations.
- Click on the third-party integration to check its permissions.
Custom integrations
When group admins add a custom integration to their group, they will see a dialog that explains which additional information the integration will have access to.
The integration may have access to information such as the members of the group or the content previously shared with the group. It may also enable the integration to message the members of your group via a bot in Workplace Chat.
If you want to check which permissions that a custom integration you’ve enabled for your Workplace has access to:
- Click Admin Panel in the left menu on Workplace.
- Click Integrations.
- Click on the custom integration.
- Click Permissions in the left menu.
- Check the permissions that your integration has access to. You can also change these permissions here.
Files shared from cloud storage services
Workplace will only show a preview and/or title of a file shared from a cloud storage service to people who have permission to view the file:
- If a file is public to everyone in your organization, people who have the cloud storage integration enabled for their Workplace account will see a rich preview and/or the file’s title.
- If the file is not public to everyone in your organization, people will see a prompt to connect their accounts to determine if they have permissions to view the title and/or a preview from within Workplace. The file will still appear as a URL link.
- If a file is encrypted or password-protected, or shared in a multi-company group, no preview will be shown. The file will still appear as a URL.
